State Representative Melissa Ziobron is a lifelong resident of the 34th District with an extensive record of community service. This past session she served as Assistant Minority Leader and continues her role as Ranking Member of the legislature’s influential, Appropriations Committee; which is responsible for assembling the spending portion of the state budget. Now in her third term, she was reappointed to the Environment Committee and holds a new role on the General Law Committee. She also serves on the Connecticut Legislature Sportsmen Caucus, the Connecticut Alcohol & Drug Policy Council, and as a representative to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission. In 2017 she was named a State Park Champion by CTCLV and Legislator of the Year by CCDL. She previously served on the legislature’s Public Health and Children’s Committee.
